Designed for the classroom
The Smart Netbook is the first mini-tablet PC for children designed with a measured and thoughtful approach to understanding the real needs of education. The Smart Netbook wasn’t born in a lab, but rather purposely conceived through real research carried out with real teachers and children in classrooms all over the world. The Smart Netbook’s researchers traveled to schools and spent time living with and observing the interactions between students, their peers and siblings, teachers, parents and school administrators.
What makes the Smart Netbook so different?
- The Smart Netbook features a durable, child proof construction and
rugged outer case, drop tested to 50cm.
-
The Smart Netbook offers a dual mode use for students. In tablet mode
students can use their fingers or stylus to interact with the touch screen,
or in traditional laptop mode students can type and use the mouse touch
pad like they would any laptop computer.
- When open like a traditional laptop, the screen swivels 180 degrees for
sharing with peers and teachers.
- The palm resting feature on the touch screen ignores the hands resting on
the screen, allowing students to write and draw with the stylus naturally.
-
The built-in camera rotates 180 degrees giving students a new way to
interact with their world.
- The built-in carrying handle combined with the lightweight and compact
size makes the Smart Netbook ultra mobile inside and outside the
classroom.
-
Water-resistant keyboard.
- Education-specific features and touch-optimised software.
- The theft deterrent chip locks the Smart Netbook down for use only within
range of your school wireless network.
